Job Description

The Digital Marketing Engagement engineering team at Visa is passionate about building innovative software serving Visa's Loyalty, Marketing, Card Benefits business. We are looking for a Sr Consultant level site reliability engineer (SRE) to join us to empower our users with a rich feature set, high availability, and stellar performance level to pursue their missions.

As we expand our customer deployments, we are currently seeking an experienced SRE to deliver insights in real time. Ideal candidate would be someone who brings fresh ideas, demonstrates a unique and informed viewpoint, and enjoys developing robust code and collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop positive user experiences at every interaction.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD

Strong development experience beyond simple scripts

Experience leading a team and experience of being responsible for delivering large projects, data and site migrations successfully

Strong Software Engineering & Cloud computing Background:

Experience with programming languages, algorithms, and data structures is essential.

Deep knowledge of operating systems (Linux), networking, and system administration tools.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).

Proficiency with tools like Ansible, Terraform, Chef, and Jenkins.

Ability to design and implement robust monitoring systems and analyze performance metrics.

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

Capacity to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.

Communication and Collaboration:

Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, developers, and other stakeholders.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 143,200.00 to 207,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
