As a Principal Software Engineer at CVS Health, you'll play a crucial role in building and delivering high-quality software that enhances customer experiences. You'll be involved in all phases of software engineering, from requirements analysis to deployment, while adhering to agile software development methodologies. Collaboration is key, as you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet the evolving needs of our business.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience with designing and building software engineering solutions in cloud environments (preferably Google Cloud Platform).

  • 1+ years experience in AI / ML modelling

  • 10+ years of experience in one or more modern languages, such as Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, SQL, etc.

  • 10+ years of experience with APIs, micro services, and modern software patterns

  • 5+ year(s) of soliciting complex requirements and managing relationships with key stakeholders

  • 5+ year(s) of experience independently managing deliverables

Preferred Qualifications

  • Dealing with large scale of data for analytics

  • Strong leadership presence — able to influence without authority and drive initiatives across teams.

  • Effective communicator, comfortable collaborating with senior engineers, architects, product owners, and delivery leads.

  • A continuous learner who is proactive in identifying improvement areas and proposing practical solutions.

  • Prior experience working in or closely with the Cart, Checkout, or Shop domains is a plus.

  • Strong engineering background with a proven track record in backend/API architecture and cloud-native systems.

  • Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices in production environments.

  • Proficient in technologies such as GCP, Kafka, Cassandra, Pub/Sub, REST and GraphQL.

Education

Bachelor degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
