Materials Analyst

We are looking for a dedicated Materials Analyst in Stafford Texas 77477 with $28.00-$35.00/hr pay depending on the experience for a 12-month contract, temp role opportunity. In this role, you will be supporting efficient operations through data-driven analysis of material usage, inventory levels, costs, and supply trends. About the Role:

This position requires strong analytical skills, advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, and the ability to clearly interpret and communicate data to cross-functional teams. You will work closely with operations, supply chain, engineering, and procurement to ensure material availability and optimize inventory performance. 

What You’ll Do:

• Analyze material usage, inventory levels, and demand trends to identify risks and improvement opportunities 
• Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets, dashboards, and reports (pivot tables, formulas, charts) 
• Track material costs and support cost-reduction and optimization initiatives 
• Monitor inventory accuracy and assist with cycle counts and reconciliation 
• Identify data discrepancies and investigate root causes 
• Prepare and present analytical reports to operations, supply chain, and management teams 
• Support forecasting, planning, and procurement activities through data analysis 
• Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and production teams to ensure material availability 

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience 
• Demonstrated experience working with and/or leading cross-functional teams 
• Experience with ERP or MRP systems 
• Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain principles 
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and pivot tables 
• Experience analyzing large datasets and generating actionable insights 
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills 
• Ability to communicate data findings clearly, both verbally and in writing 
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau preferred) 
• Basic knowledge of SQL or other data query tools is a plus
