SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Description
SUMMARY:
- The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparation and analysis of financial statements and ensuring the accuracy of the financial records of the organization.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monthly/ Year End Close Processes
- Perform month-end and year-end close process
- Maintain Amortization and Depreciation Records
- Reconciliation of key transactions and accounts
External Audit
- Primary Contact for external audit process
- Provide Reports, Schedules, and information as requested for the completion of Audit
- Manage requests from auditors in support of audit completion
Non AOT Accounting
- Reconciliation of Bank Accounts,
- Recording of necessary entries
- Fixed Asset, Depreciation Management
- Communicating with other parties as required
- Preparation of Financial Reports
Financial Reporting
- Timely preparation of financial statements and financial reporting
- Financial Statement Analysis
Other
- Review and back up of transactional accounting functions
- Prepare, review or recommend modifications to accounting systems, policies and processes
- Fixed Asset Accounting
- Other financial reporting, special projects as required
Meetings
- 1 to 1 meeting (1 hour)
- L10 meetings (1.5 hours)
- Ad-hoc (2 hours)
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA Preferred
- 7+ Years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance related roles
- 3 years of experience in a supervisory role preferred
- Proven hands on accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills
- Concise, effective communicator with non-accounting departments
- Ability to multitask in a deadline driven environment
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to Manage Up
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- High degree of competency in Excel
- QuickBooks (a plus)
- Hands on experience using ERP system (Sage 100, Apprise)
