Who YOU Are You're a skilled and safety-conscious Procurement Manager with expertise in managing and maintaining relationships with suppliers. As a Procurement Manager you work across all industries with management closely to ensure that the right Suppliers are being utilized based on ever changing needs. You are known for overcoming obstacles that may affect productivity and for continuing communication with leadership allowing for efficient flow of goods and services. What You WILL DO In the role of Procurement Manager, your duties will include:
- Develop sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials used
- Maintaining relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors
- Evaluating spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries
- Communicating with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production
- Conducting cost analysis and setting benchmarks for improvement
- Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages
- Supervising a purchasing team and delegating tasks across departments when necessary. Order spare parts and supplies according to customer requirements
- Have experience in keeping a current spreadsheet of spare parts costs that reflect quarterly historical information for reporting/research purposes. The sheet shall cross reference all projects requiring repair or replacement.
- Supervise buyer assistant(s), whose duties shall include obtaining quotes and parts from the local market, obtaining prior approval for local procurement from sponsor representative, and making the purchase.
- Have experience in reviewing and approving purchase orders for legitimacy, price, quality, delivery and service.
- Have experience meeting critical timelines to deliver sustainment support and emergency no -notice requirements while avoiding/preventing operational delays or work stoppage.
- Have experience with determining the best value and most expedient logistics routes and vendors to ensure consistent customer support.
- Have experience providing oversight of procurement and receiving activities, shipment preparation, routing, logistics and inventory of goods.
- Have experience with compliance with all local laws and regulations related to the transport of goods.
- Have experience with interacting with local logistics providers and reach back to CONUS for support on significant issues.
- Requires a SECRET Clearance with the ability to be upgraded to TS/SCI w/ Poly level clearance.
- Three (3)+ years of experience working with the following types of tasking requirements,: performing research on required spare parts, verifying part quotes, working with suppliers directly and through other countries, working with buyer assistants and/or local market purchases.
