Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cath Lab/EP position in San Marcos, TX, requiring at least 1 year of experience and active ACLS certification.
Details
- Cardiology Cath Lab unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
- On-call required for STEMI response: 16–20 days of call per 6-week period
- Weekend on-call required: 3 out of every 6 weekends
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license with TX privileges required
- Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty or critical care setting
- BSN preferred
- US Social Security Number required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Active, unexpired copies of all certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education
- Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
- New hires attend a mandatory New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
- Initial onboarding includes preceptorship with a trained staff member and completion of organizational and department-specific competency validations
- New graduates will be considered for this position
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
