Senior Director of Accounting
Dallas, TX – Remote in DFW area
$160-180k bonus

A growing, multi-entity organization is seeking a Senior Director of Accounting to provide strategic leadership across core accounting functions and drive operational excellence within the accounting organization. This role will oversee the General Ledger team, a newly established Accounts Receivable/Cash Applications function, and an Acquisition Accounting team responsible for supporting ongoing business growth initiatives.

Reporting to executive finance leadership, the Senior Director of Accounting will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, enhancing accounting processes, and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop multiple accounting teams, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable/Cash Applications, and Acquisition Accounting.
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Establish and monitor accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Treasury, and other business leaders to improve financial processes and reporting.
• Provide oversight of accounting activities related to acquisitions, including purchase accounting, integration support, and ongoing accounting considerations.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and scalability efforts to support organizational growth.
• Review account reconciliations, journal entries, financial analyses, and management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with internal control requirements and support external audit activities.
• Mentor and develop accounting leaders while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Public accounting required
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of large or multi-functional accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience overseeing complex general ledger environments and month-end close processes.
• Exposure to acquisition accounting, purchase accounting, or business integrations preferred.
• Proven ability to build and lead teams through organizational growth and change.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience driving process improvement and leveraging technology to enhance accounting operations.
