DevOps Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Plano, TX/Richmond, VA (Hybrid). You will configure and deploy containerized vendor applications as proof of concept, ensuring scalability and maintainability.

Rate Range: $60/hour to $65/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

DevOps Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Configure and deploy containerized vendor applications using Docker and Openshift, ensuring scalability and maintainability.

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.

• Utilize cloud platforms to enhance deployment and operational efficiency, ensuring smooth integration with containerized applications.

• Conduct proof of concept (POC) initiatives to evaluate vendor tools and technologies, addressing pain points and gaps in current systems.

• Regularly communicate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to gather requirements, present findings, and implement solutions.

• Ensure adherence to container security best practices and maintain configurations for DMZ, firewall rules, and network segmentation.

• Document results of POC initiatives, evaluate outcomes against success criteria, and provide recommendations for future improvements.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, containerization, and CI/CD pipeline integration.

• Hands-on experience with Docker, Openshift, and container orchestration tools.

• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, container security best practices, and CI/CD methodologies.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $65.00 per hour
