- UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
- Order and pick up medications from the Pharmacy.
- Stock carts with needed medications.
- Require knowledge of generic and brand names for all pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain medications within their expiration date and properly dispose of expired medications.
- Stock and clean all assigned areas daily. Stock, clear, and replace all anesthesia equipment and supplies as necessary.
- Participate in room turnover, assuring minimal downtime between cases.
- Perform decontamination of areas after each case. Remove and replace anesthesia circuits and suction. Change the soda lime canister as needed.
- Set up special monitoring lines for cases.
- Coordinate basic upkeep and maintenance of anesthesia machine with Biomedical personnel.
- Obtain and prepare equipment for the transport of critically ill patients.
- Maintain all specialty carts in the department.
- Maintain daily log of refrigerator temperatures in workrooms in Main OR, Day Surgery, and OB.
- Adhere to guidelines provided by MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) on hazardous materials and supplies.
- Recognize, adhere to, and be knowledgeable of the Joint Commission standards.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of ordering supplies and keeping inventory.
- Comply with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and policies.
