The Senior Engineer - MPD Systems will be responsible for supporting the design, development, and optimization of Nabors' Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) systems. This role will play a critical part in ensuring technology readiness, operational reliability, and customer value through innovative engineering solutions.

  • Lead engineering efforts in MPD system design, RCD design or improvements, development, and integration with rig control systems.
  • Collaborate with product management, operations, and field support teams to translate business and operational needs into engineered solutions.
  • Support system modeling, hydraulics analysis, pressure control algorithms, and risk assessments.
  • Provide subject matter expertise during MPD deployments, troubleshooting, and technology upgrades.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing field performance data and recommending enhancements.
  • Author and maintain engineering documentation including system specifications, test procedures, manuals, and certification packages.
  • Ensure designs comply with regulatory, safety, and customer requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional training initiatives.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience with Managed Pressure Drilling engineering, system design, or related drilling technologies.
  • Strong understanding of MPD operations, well control principles, and pressure management systems.
  • Experience with engineering tools and modeling software (e.g., hydraulics modeling, MATLAB, or equivalent).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering and operations teams in high-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years' experience in MPD systems development, controls, or automation integration.
  • Experience with Nabors rigs, drilling systems, and digital platforms.
  • Familiarity with API, ASME, and other applicable industry standards.
