Position Title: Production Event Bar Manager Location: Houston Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $60-65k

Overview:

Corn and Rye, a Spirits Catering company, is seeking an experienced and energetic Production Event Bar Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of bar services at various events. The Production Event Bar Manager will be responsible for managing the entire bar operation, including staffing, inventory control, customer service, and compliance with regulations. This role is key in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable bar experience for event attendees, while maximizing profitability and efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in hospitality, bartending, or event management are a plus.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in bar management, preferably in an event production or hospitality setting.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of bar operations, drink preparation, and customer service.
    • Excellent leadership and staff management skills.
    • Ability to manage inventory, budgets, and profitability effectively.
    • Strong communication, planning and organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of alcohol service laws and health regulations.
    • Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bar Operations Management:
    • Oversee all bar operations at events, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow from setup to breakdown.
    • Plan bar layouts, stations, and equipment based on event needs and space constraints.
    • Ensure the bar area is well-organized, clean, and compliant with health and safety standards.
    • Monitor bar service quality and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
    • Monitor employees' execution of events
  • Staff Management and Training:
    • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise bartenders for events.
    • Schedule staff shifts based on event size and anticipated demand.
    • Provide ongoing training on customer service, drink preparation, and responsible alcohol service.
    • Manage and motivate bar staff to perform efficiently during busy events.
  • Inventory and Supply Management:
    • Oversee the purchasing, storage, and management of bar inventory, including alcoholic beverages, mixers, garnishes, and additional items.
    • Track inventory levels before and after each event to minimize waste and ensure adequate stock.
    • Monitor usage patterns and adjust orders to meet demand, ensuring cost-effective procurement.
    • Conduct regular audits of inventory and manage vendor relationships for bar supplies.
  • Event Coordination and Collaboration:
    • Work closely with event planners, catering teams, and production staff to ensure seamless integration of bar services with the overall event experience.
    • Collaborate with vendors, sponsors, and clients to enhance bar offerings and maximize profitability.
  • Customer Service and Guest Relations:
    • Ensure all bar staff deliver excellent customer service, providing a positive and engaging experience for guests.
    • Handle any customer complaints or issues in a professional manner, resolving them quickly and efficiently.
    • Ensure responsible alcohol service practices are followed, including checking IDs and refusing service to intoxicated guests.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the sale and service of alcohol.
    • Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and guests, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
    • Manage proper cash handling and credit card transactions at the bar, ensuring all financial procedures are followed.
  • Post-Event Analysis:
    • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the efficiency of bar operations, inventory management, and staff performance.
    • Provide feedback and recommendations for future events to improve operations and guest satisfaction.
