Business Reporting Analyst I

ABOUT THE ROLE
Mpact Home Services is looking for a Business Reporting Analyst to join our data team. This role is focused on translating reporting requests from department stakeholders into working SQL queries and finished reports — pulling and shaping data from BigQuery tables with an emphasis on accurate, timely report building from existing data sources.
This is a great opportunity for someone with solid SQL fundamentals who wants to grow their reporting and BI skills in a real-world data environment, with room to pick up additional skills along the way.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Reporting & Query Development
Take reporting requests from department stakeholders (marketing, operations, leadership) and translate them into SQL queries against BigQuery tables.
Write SQL to pull, filter, and shape data into the tables needed to answer a given reporting request.
Build finished reports from query results and deliver them accurately and on time.

List Building & Targeting
Build lists for marketing: direct mail, calling/texting campaigns, and more.
Pull targeted customer, location, and job lists based on defined criteria (e.g., campaign targeting, service history, follow-up lists).

Report Maintenance & Quality
Maintain and troubleshoot existing recurring reports, catching and fixing data issues as they arise.
Perform basic data quality checks (duplicates, missing values, mismatched joins) before delivering results.
Documentation & Learning
Document report logic and definitions so others can understand and maintain them.
Learn our existing data models across ServiceTitan, Five9, and other source systems.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
2+ years of experience writing SQL in a business environment, including building queries and tables to answer specific business requests.
Comfortable writing SELECT statements with JOINs, WHERE clauses, GROUP BY, and aggregate functions against real production tables, including CTEs (WITH clauses) to structure multi-step queries.
Strong attention to detail — comfortable double-checking your own work before it goes out the door.
Experience taking a stakeholder’s request and determining the best way to structure a query to answer it — not just running pre-written reports.
Experience delivering results to stakeholders and explaining what a report shows and how it was built.
Comfortable with Excel or Google Sheets for light data cleanup or delivery.

NICE TO HAVE
Experience with Looker / LookML.
Exposure to BigQuery or another cloud data warehouse.
Familiarity with CRM and call center data (e.g., ServiceTitan, Five9).
