Warehouse Manager (Weapon Materials Program)
What You'll Do
- Exercises direct supervision on a full-time basis over bargaining personnel with responsibility over warehousing, but not limited to, loading and unloading trailers for both on-site and off-site shipment, preparations of off-site shipments, receiving, physical inventory, storage, distribution and processes to ensure that government-owned inventory is controlled, tracked and protected in accordance with federal regulations, DOE orders, and best business practices
- Understands material and warehousing concepts and applications; has knowledge of the principles of Formality of Operations in a manufacturing environment; is accountable for the results of the actions taken by subordinates
- Assigns work and tasks to subordinates by specifying task parameters, i.e., quality, quantity, resources and expected completion time
- Responsible for the development of individuals in their roles to ensure technical competence and a thorough understanding of safety, quality and security aspects of the job
- Ensures work areas, equipment, and property are maintained and recommends preventive maintenance practices
- May be required to conduct special projects or prepare reports
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of applicable federal, state, DOE, corporate, and plant rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Attends and/or conducts stand-up and safety meetings and training for subordinates
- May assume the duties of the General Stores manager in his/her absence
- Responsible for the application of established personnel and operating policies and programs, including the Union Agreement, employee concerns, discipline processes, and safety, health and security standards
- Attends and/or successfully completes training classes
- Communicates clearly through both the oral and written word
- Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience; minimum of 3 years of relevant supervisory/management experience
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 3 years job-related and at least 2 years nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. The minimum education and experience for the lowest career level in the job posting range are listed under Minimum Job Requirements. Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required. Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
