Product Manager
Description
Job Summary:
The Product Manager will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of new products and improvements to existing products. This role requires a blend of product design expertise, problem-solving skills, and understanding customer requirements to ensure that our products meet customer needs and align with business goals. This role will also help in areas of time study's, labor hour calculations, and technical support to the production staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, design, marketing, and manufacturing to define product specifications and requirements.
- Design, prototype, and test new product concepts, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.
- Responsible for leading efficiency improvement and cycle time reduction projects in all different production areas.
- Evaluate and improve existing products based on customer feedback and performance data.
- Develop detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, test plans, and test results.
- Develop detailed standard work documentation for every manufacturing operation in the organization.
- Support the manufacturing process by providing product assistance and troubleshooting production issues.
- Participate in product lifecycle management and ensure timely project delivery from conception to launch as well as phase out to avoid obsolescence.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the product line.
- Create Bill of Materials (BOM) for every job that flows through the plant
- Ability to make a project plan
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in product engineering or related role.
- Proficiency in drawing design software (Smart Drawn, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering simulation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials is a plus.
- Proficiency in NetSuite
