Lead Software Engineer, Eligibility

The Eligibility team plays a crucial role in our healthcare organization, managing the essential process of member enrollment across all our clients. We handle significant volumes of sensitive data that directly impacts individuals' access to their health benefits—effectively serving as stewards of what we consider the "currency of healthcare." Our work directly supports operations teams in their mission to maintain seamless, uninterrupted membership services for our clients.

What you'll do:
- Take ownership of significant features and modules within our Eligibility Platform, from conception to deployment and ongoing maintenance
- Design and develop scalable, secure and configurable platform services for eligibility
- Lead end-to-end development of services across backend(Java/Spring), integration platforms and frontend (React/Angular)
- Build and extend APIs and data services (micro-services) to enable partner integrations and downstream systems
- Integrate and operationalize AI-powered developer tools (e.g. Copilot, Cursor) and contribute to incorporating ML-backed capabilities into platform workflows
- Collaborate with product managers, backend engineers, operations, and data teams tosolve complex real-world problems like data and interface integrations, data enrichment, and automated decision rules.
- Translate business requirements to technical design specifications
- Engage with our operations team to help them improve their overall efficiency
- Drive architectural decisions and champion reusable patterns for cloud-native, AI-enabled backend systems
- Mentor other senior engineers and influence best practices in system design, testing, and continuous delivery
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- 8+ years of working as a full stack engineer
- Is well-versed in technologies such as Java & Spring, including strong understanding of microservices architecture.
- Experience building file (EDI, CSV), messaging based integrations (Kafka) will be a plus
- Have experience building frontend features in React/Angular, even if not your primary focus
- Extensive experience workings hands on with native cloud capabilities (SaaS, PasS) with AWS/GCP
- Has hands-on experience with data architecture, SQL/PostgreSQL and building data intensive services and solutions
- Use AI-enhanced development tooling like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or WindSurf as part of your regular development workflow
- Strong Communicates to clearly communicate up, down and across teams
- Prior experience architecting, building, launching and maintaining complex systems
- Balances getting things done with making things perfect, demonstrating MVP approach
- To take pride in mentoring other developers
- To love working with a team of awesome, collaborative co-workers
- To like to be involved in the decision making process, taking into account the needs of our customers as well as our company long term engineering excellence goals
Pay Transparency Statement
This is a hybrid position based out of one of our offices: Plano, TX, or Lehi, UT. Hybrid employees are expected to be in the office two days per week. #LI-hybrid
The actual pay rate offered within the range will depend on factors including geographic location, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to the salary, you will be eligible for stock options and benefits like health insurance, 401k, and paid time off. Learn more about our benefits at .

$134,500—$168,000 USD
Plano, TX Pay Range
$147,800—$185,500 USD
