The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Commercial Loan Closer role in the Irving, TX area. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and verifying loan documents including income, credit, appraisal, and title insurance, and ensuring the information is complete, accurate, and complies with Bank policies, and SBA Guidelines as well as meets underwriters’ requirements.

The position offers a generous salary of up to $65K and a full benefits package. (This is not a remote position).

Commercial Loan Closer responsibilities include:

• Reviewing the credit files and completing all necessary documentation for SBA packaging files.
• Entering information into the loan operating system (LOS), following up and communicating with both loan pre-closers and loan officers to obtain missing or updated documentation to process the loan file in a timely manner.
• Working closely with commercial lenders, business development officers, underwriting, attorneys, document preparation, third-party vendors, and customers to prepare loan package closing.
• Maintaining control over loans(s) in the process to detect any potential and/or developing problems and ensure all department managers are informed of any issues.
• Reviewing closing documents upon receipt from the bank attorney to ensure conformance with the approved loan terms and conditions.
• Ordering and reviewing UCC/Federal/State/County preliminary lien searches, title commitments, flood search, appraisal, environmental reports, and requests
• Timely communication with the borrower, commercial lender, and pre-closer regarding missing items needed to complete loan closing.
• Ensuring prompt payment of the Guaranty fee in the SBA/USDA required time frame.
• Reviewing articles and by-laws/operating agreements, where applicable of partnership, corporation, and limited liability company (LLC).
• Following internal audit procedures to ensure files are properly documented and scanned into an electronic scanning system.
• Clearing any outstanding items, exceptions, and liens, prior to or at, closing time.
• Performing other duties as assigned by management.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree (AA) from a four-year college or university and two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced knowledge of lending operations and closing procedures.
• Knowledge of commercial lending and SBA lending processes is required to assist in the preparation of this information.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts to apply math concepts.
• Ability to apply sound judgment and understanding to carry out instructions and/or to solve problems with variables.
