MRI Technologist Job Details – Richmond, VA

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2870–$2950 per week
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel MRI technologist job)
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – North Ground MRI, Level I Trauma Center
• Location: Richmond, VA 23298 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: December 15, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 4x10-hour evening shifts (1:00 PM – 11:30 PM), Monday–Friday, with either Monday or Friday off; no weekends required
• Hours per Week: 40
• Patient Population: Neonate to Geriatrics
• MRI Equipment: Siemens Aera and Vida (1.5T and 3T)

MRI Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience (2 years preferred)
• Current ARRT (R) certification required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Experience with Siemens MRI scanners
• PACS and contrast administration experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Valid VA state license or compact state eligibility (30-day work authorization accepted with timely licensure completion)
• Two professional references required

MRI Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of MRI procedures, including neuro, body, musculoskeletal, cardiac, and pediatric imaging
• Operate Siemens MRI scanners (Aera and Vida platforms) and utilize PACS for image management
• Prepare and administer contrast media as needed
• Start peripheral IVs and ensure patient safety throughout all MRI procedures
• Care for a diverse patient population, from neonates to geriatrics, including trauma and critical care cases
• Float within scope as needed to support hospital imaging department operations
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic (preferred) and follow hospital protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care
