Specific Responsibilities The Corporate Development Analyst for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache's Corporate Development team at the company's Houston, TX office reporting to the Director of Corporate Development. This role will be primarily responsible for the following: - Support Corporate Development in the evaluation of potential transactions (both A&D and M&A), industry activity, capital markets and transaction financing considerations
- Build Excel-based financial models to evaluate potential transactions (including asset A&D models, corporate M&A models and joint venture models) and, when an ARIES database is being prepared in parallel, work with technical team within Corporate Development to maintain reconciliation between the Excel-based model and the related ARIES database
- Perform comparable public company and other valuation analyses
- Prepare presentation materials for potential counterparties, Corporate Development leadership and Apache's executive team and Board of Directors
- Compile and analyze data from outside parties, internal departments and public sources for transaction evaluations, including well lists, acreage schedules, production data, capex data and lease operating statements
- Manage Q&A throughout the transaction process between internal Apache groups and outside parties through virtual data rooms and/or email
- Assist in the negotiation and documentation of supporting transaction documents including confidentiality agreements, bid letters and purchase and sale agreements Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline
- Knowledge of finance and financial modeling, especially as it relates to the oil and gas exploration and production industry
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, management, administrative, organizational and leadership skills
- High level of intellectual curiosity and desire to dig in to understand new concepts
- Experience implementing sound decisions when faced with new and/or complex problems
- Demonstrated ability to communicate vision and set goals
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects
- High degree of initiative and independent judgment Competencies
