Mobile Diesel Mechanic
Our customer is looking for a Field Service Diesel Technician to diagnosis and repair Diesel Trucks and Equipment in the San Antonio/Austin area. This company believes in empowering their employees, they provide exceptional support with technical assistance and training but provide the flexibility to work independently. This position is an 8-hour shift with on call responsibilities. This is a busy fast-growing company with offering a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid time-off and a 401K.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Supporting Diesel Truck and Equipment customers in the San Antonio/Austin area, we are looking for Mobile Diesel Technicians who have good attention to details and strong communication skills. The primary duties of a Mobile Diesel Mechanic include performing diagnostic tests on various vehicles to find faults, analyzing diagnostic test results and repairing or replacing engine, steering, transmission, braking or lighting system components. Mobile Technicians need to be highly organized and communicate effectively, as they will be expected to maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles and interact with customers daily.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Running diagnostic tests on vehicles
- Analyzing diagnostic test results
- Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems
- Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks
- Maintaining a parts inventory
- Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
- Checking vehicle lighting systems
- Test driving vehicles to gauge performance
- Documenting and submitting daily work logs/time sheets to supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Basic knowledge with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems
- Familiar with OEM an Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components d aftermarket software- All Makes
- Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools
- Conduct Bi-directional testing
- Aptitude for mathematics and science
- Good IT and diagnostic skills
- Excellent work habits, organization, accuracy, attention to detail, and quality of work
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
- ASE Diesel Certification advantageous.
- Two to four years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENCES and REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Drivers License and clean driving record.
- Commercial Drivers License a plus
