- Job Title: CVICU Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: San Antonio, Texas 78229 (South Texas Medical Center)
- Healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract Nursing Job
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), rotating weekends
- Start Date: August 28, 2025
- End Date: November 27, 2025
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1570 - $1610
- Active Texas RN license (no temporary licenses accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU or CVICU nursing experience
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring (swans, arterial lines)
- Ventilator management skills
- Strong clinical and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
- Preferred: IABP and CRRT experience, Meditech charting proficiency
- Deliver advanced nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients
- Monitor and manage cardiac support devices (IABP, Impella, ECMO)
- Care for post-CABG, post-VAD, and post-cath patients
- Document and enter orders using Meditech EMR system
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Follow hospital policies, including floating and attendance requirements
- Maintain professional appearance (navy scrubs) and adhere to dress code
