HR Support Specialist
Job Description
Job Description
Description:
This isn’t your typical HR position. We’re looking for someone who thrives on building workflows, supporting employees, and helping our growing team succeed, not just pushing paperwork. You will have tools and resources to start strong and keep your focus on people
- HR Edge for compliance and legal resources
- A Time & Labor/Compliance Assistant (to help with timecards, attendance, and document uploads)
- A Recruitment Team to oversee talent acquisition so you can focus on our current team.
- A Finance Manager who handles payroll and accounting, while assisting with Benefits and 401k.
Your Role Includes:
- Acting as the liaison between staff and leadership, building communication, morale, and engagement.

- Supporting investigations, documentation, and offboarding processes with professionalism and care.
This is a people-first HR support role within a privately owned, non-corporate hospital where flexibility, employee engagement, and proactive HR practices come first.
We’re transparent: our hospital has grown quickly, and expanding HR support is the next step to ensure our team’s success and sustain our growth. This role is designed to bridge that gap, make repairs to the system, and focus on people, streamlining workflows, and strengthening the culture that makes us unique.
Requirements:Required Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in HR, employee relations, or administrative roles.
- Proficiency in Paylocity, Google Workspace, and cloud-based systems.
- Strong communication skills with a people-first, adaptable mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HR experience in healthcare, veterinary, or other 24/7 shift-based environments.
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent).
What You Contribute:
- Proven HR leadership experience, especially in healthcare, veterinary, or 24/7 operational settings.
- Solid understanding of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance standards.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with an unbiased, creative, professionally empathetic, people-first approach.
- Experience coaching managers and developing leadership capacity.
- Passion for mental health support and advocating for employee well-being.
- Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and resilient mindset.
Unique Schedule Details
- This is NOT a Monday–Friday 9–5 job
- Flexible schedule built around our 24/7 hospital staffing needs
- Our employees work 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. shifts
