We are seeking a Paint Store Associate to become an integral part of our team! You will be a key member of the retail team, responsible for delivering exceptional service, assisting with paint product selection, and maintaining an organized and efficient store environment. This role supports the store's mission to provide high-quality paint and related products to both DIY customers and professional contractors, aligning with the standards of the North American Hardware and Paint Association.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting paint products, offering expert advice on paint types, finishes, and application techniques. answer questions about product specifications and project requirements.
• Paint Mixing and Tinting: Use specialized tinting equipment to mix and match custom paint colors based on customer specifications, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Inventory Management: Restock shelves with paint and related supplies, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure proper storage of products to meet safety and quality standards.
• Sales Floor Maintenance: Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and visually appealing. Create and update merchandising displays to highlight products and promotions.
• Order Processing: Handle sales transactions, process orders for professional contractors, and manage returns or exchanges efficiently.
• Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of paint products, including acrylic and latex-based paints, primers, and tools, to provide informed recommendations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other associates to ensure smooth store operations, assist in training new staff, and support store initiatives.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to store policies, safety guidelines, and local regulations for handling and disposing of hazardous materials like paint.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus, preferably in a hardware, paint, or home improvement setting. No prior experience required for entry-level roles, as training is provided.
• Skills:
  • Strong customer service and communication skills to build relationships and assist diverse customers.
  • Basic knowledge of paint products and application techniques (or willingness to learn).
  • Attention to detail for accurate paint mixing and inventory tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, internet).
  • Time management and multitasking abilities to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability: ​​​​​​ Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to meet store needs.
