What You'll Do
- Prepare state and local sales & use and other transaction tax returns, estimated payments and prepayments, as well as related payment requests and journal entries
- Prepare reconciliation of transaction tax accounts monthly
- Assist with handling of exemption certificates
- Assist in responding to questions from CMC operations and accounting personnel, as well as occasional customer questions
- Assist with sales and use tax automation
- Manage location set-up for new locations in automated sales and use tax compliance system
- Manage registrations and certificates for current and new locations with all jurisdictions where required
- Assist with tax research as required
- Provide support for state and local sales & use tax audits
What You'll Need
- Minimum 3 years sales tax or accounting experience with private industry and/or public accounting
- Experience with OneSource Determination and SAP is a plus
- Good work ethic, proactive, can-do attitude
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with tax reporting software (Vertex preferred) or ability to learn quickly
- Team player, detail oriented, and organized
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, constantly-changing environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to work well independently with minimal daily supervision
- Microsoft Office & Internet literate
- Proficiency in conducting tax research (Checkpoint preferred) or ability to learn quickly
Your Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with emphasis in accounting or significant sales and use tax experience
