Accounts Receivable Clerk

GENERAL SUMMARY
Records payments to customer accounts and maintains accounts receivable records. Reconcile and deposits all monies received by the dealership. To operate within the guidelines of Ford Motor Company and the standards of Five Star Ford to build a relationship as well as create an experience for our customers rather than a transaction. Works together to create a culture where employees can LOVE their jobs and customers can LOVE our employees. Demostrates an attitude of CARING toward co-workers and customers in order for both to feel valued.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Reconciles and deposits service and parts receipts including credit cards on a daily basis.
· Ensures all monies received from vehicle sales have been receipted in by FI and processes drafts.
· Post the Ford EFT and bank transaction report daily.
· Maintain the cash clearing accounts and reconcile daily.
· Answers accounts receivable phone calls and follow up on inquiries.
· Performs background checks on credit applications.
· Set up New Account Receivable accounts after Controller approves.
· Cross-trains others for this position as directed by management.
· Prepares accounts receivable statements monthly.
· Post the Warranty JV’s, including Ford warranty credits daily.
· Prepares the Free Service report.
· Process NSF/Return Checks to UTA.
· Maintain all A/R related schedules.
· Ensures CIT accounts are cleared daily after payments have been posted
· Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area.
· Completes all Ethos training in a timely manner when prompted to do so.
· Receptionist relief when needed.
· Assist with other functions in accounting when asked by Management.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals..
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One or two years related experience and/or training
