Job Summary:
The Director of Spend Management is responsible for all aspects of executing spend management strategies. Critical responsibilities of this position encompass building relationships with vendors and clients (centers) for maximum cost control tactics; negotiating and maintaining all corporate contracts; facilitating education as it relates to expense control on the center level; and participating in finance department budget, cash, and expense discussions and strategies. The Director of Spend Management will work with all applicable corporate and operations level departments, closely with SVP of Finance, Chief Legal Officer, and Chief Operating Officer.
Essential Job Functions:
- Establishes, maintains, and executes spend management strategies in accordance with Company standards, policies, and initiatives.
- Responsible for all aspects of corporate contract management. Manage contract portfolio of vendor contracts and ancillary services provided.
- Initiates and maintains relationships with vendors and clients.
- Manages the strategic, tactical, and negotiating phases of vendor contracting.
- Develops strategies and tools to incorporate appropriate expense cost control within the portfolio of centers, such as global use Spend Down tools.
- Develops education, on-boarding, and training methods as it pertains to cost control.
- Works closely and provides guidance to center Administrators on establishing appropriate cost controls within the $PPD approved budget.
- Works closely with Accounts Receivable, Finance, and Accounts Payable for proper reconciliations of accounts and invoices.
- Possesses leadership skills to motivate team performance towards financial excellence.
- Works closely with the Chief Legal Officer for contract execution.
- Works closely with the VP of Finance on cash forecasting, spend control tactics, and annual budget-related strategies.
- Works closely with Chief Operating Officer on the execution and delivery of spend management strategies.
- Participates in Senior Leadership strategy and planning sessions.
- Assigned additional projects, as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Bachelor’s degree- Business Administration or Healthcare Administration
- 3-5 Years of experience in insurance or healthcare administration.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate contracting and negotiation
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
- Leadership in the core values of the organization
- Must be a team player who strives for excellence and is dedicated to outstanding customer service.
- A mature approach to problem-solving for all types of issues
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office – Excel, Access, Word and Power Point.
