Job Description:\n\n This is an onsite position at our Buda, TX production facility. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-12:30am, with occasional Saturdays required. What the Role IsThe Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, working independently on 2nd Shift, serves as a subject matter expert and member of the production team reporting directly to the Supervising Maintenance Engineer as it relates to the maintenance of the industrial equipment essential to produce the product. This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and preventive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of business goals. How You Will Spend Your Time?Perform routine repairs and maintain all equipment to enhance efficiency and prevent malfunctions that could lead to production downtime and costly repairsTroubleshoot malfunctions and locate source of problems by examining equipment and mechanical devicesParticipate in the purchasing of new machinery and equipment, contacting equipment manufacturers to understand equipment capabilities and to order parts, using independent judgment of the needs of the businessAssist in line changes and process improvements the impact production costsFabricate repair parts by using machine shop equipmentClean equipment, lubricate moving parts, change fluids, modify equipment and replace parts and components as requiredMaintain records of all maintenance activitiesConduct preventive maintenance measures on structures, equipment, electrical, plumbing as well as facilitiesOn behalf of the Distillery Plant Manager, supervise contractors carrying out work within facilities; provide feedback and directives that are vital to the success of the production of the productsControl the cost of downtime by informing production employees of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitor complianceMaintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels and anticipating required equipment, parts and suppliesAssist in the daily operation and direction of the maintenance function including setting priorities and troubleshooting problems that could cause production schedule failuresAct as a lead on designated activities and interface with operators and external contacts in the accomplishment of organizational goals and objectives. Support and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results and training production employees on efficient operation and basic routine maintenance proceduresMaintain positive work environment by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with co-workers, customers, clients and managementMaintain safe and clean work environment Who You Are…Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Maintenance, Maintenance Journeyman’s Card or equivalent certificationMinimum 4 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting, including strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience Working knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance techniquesTeam leadership, or other experience that enable accepting a leadership role to advise Distillery Plant Manager as neededExcellent mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of maintenance procedures and interpretation of written and oral directions, including blueprints, construction plans, drawings, assembly instructionsWorking knowledge of machine tools including conveyors, packaging equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic equipmentProficient with MIG and TIG WeldingMust possess excellent communication skills, problem solving and troubleshooting skills, and a work history that demonstrates a good work ethic, excellent attendance and the ability to contribute to the production of a quality product safelyHigh degree of initiative, creativity, self-direction, and respect for the safety rules and proceduresGood interpersonal skills and able to work well in a team environmentMust have good oral and written communication skills to effectively direct and provide instruction to othersMust be capable of making timely decisions utilizing logic and sound judgment that affects the profit and loss of the businessDepending on business needs, this position could either be on an 8-hour shift (5+ days per week), 10-hour shift or a 12-hour shift.Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays as required Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:Exposure to Lean Manufacturing continuous improvement techniques Physical Requirements While performing job duties, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, use of computer; and reach with hands and arms.
