Sr. SW Engineer

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Sr. SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, TX to:

• Design, Code, document and implement new applications as well as existing programs.
• Contribute to enhancements, and corrections to existing applications codebase.
• Develop code that adheres to design specifications and meets security standards using C#, .NET, .NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, or other Microsoft-based development tools.
• Ensure coding practices follow all security standards, are maintainable, and deliver high system performance.
• Collaborate with Development & QA staff on individual and team deliverables.
• Create documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
• Conduct code reviews, as requested, to comply with coding standards.
• Build working relationships with global and virtual teams on software development.
• Identify opportunities for future enhancements and refinements to standards, best practices, and development methodologies.
• Work with managers and clients to fully understand business requirements and desired business outcomes.
• Assist in scoping and designing analytic data assets, implementing modelled attributes, and contributing to brainstorming sessions.
• Perform other tasks on R&D, data governance, system infrastructure, analytics tool evaluation, and other cross team functions, on an as-needed basis.
• Find opportunities to create, automate and scale repeatable analyses or build self-service tools for business users.
• Execute software engineering projects ranging from small to large either individually or as part of a project team.
• Ensure project delivery within timelines and budget requirements.
• Position reports to the employer’s Austin, TX office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.
• Position requires experience in the following skills:
  • Web applications, APIs, Business Logic.
  • C#, JavaScript, .net, HTML/CSS.
  • SQL.
  • Swagger.
  • Code quality, functional testing, performance testing.
  • Unit testing, Selenium.
  • Oracle SQL Developer.
  • IIS.
  • Version control systems to collaborate and track code changes (Git).
  • Agile methodologies.

Worksite: Austin, TX

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Travel Requirements:  This position does not require travel.

Mental/Physical Requirements:  This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is $110,700.00 USD to $171,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
