Cement Terminal Operator

Job description:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Cement Terminal Operator to work in an active industrial environment. This position involves operating loading systems, unloading rail cars, equipment operation, and performing general manual labor. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable with early start times, overtime, and physically demanding work.

Responsibilities:

• Work safely in an active industrial environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Operate cement loading systems and generate load tickets
• Open trailer lids and verify driver paperwork
• Load trailers accurately and efficiently
• Unload rail cars using provided equipment
• Operate a rail car mover
• Perform general manual labor and basic site cleanup
• Operate equipment such as:
• Skid steer
• Scissor lift
• Use hand tools, including jackhammers
• Perform basic mechanical tasks (mechanical aptitude is a plus)
• Assist with welding and cutting torch work as needed (preferred, not required)
• Follow instructions closely and communicate effectively with team members
• Work independently during after-hours self-serve operations when required

Schedule:

• Start date: January 5
• Typical start time: 5:00 AM (may start as early as 3:00 AM)
• Shift length: Up to 3:00 PM
• Overtime: Required

Requirements:

• Previous experience in an industrial, terminal, or heavy labor environment preferred
• Basic computer skills required
• Ability to work early mornings, long hours, and overtime
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded
• Strong listening skills and ability to follow directions
• Comfortable working in a physically demanding role
• Harness training will be provided on-site

Pay Rate: $18 per hour
