Accounts Payable Manager
- Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice entry, matching, approvals, and payments.
- Lead the transition from manual AP processes to an automated solution utilizing OCR/NLP technologies.
- Implement and optimize AP automation platforms (e.g., AvidXchange, Stampli, Beanworks), streamlining workflows and improving visibility.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors, subcontractors, and service providers in alignment with contract terms.
- Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Oversee compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
- Train and develop AP staff to adopt best practices and automation tools effectively.
- Collaborate with accounting and project management teams to ensure alignment between cost coding, job cost reporting, and payment processing.
- Monitor aging reports and manage cash disbursement schedules.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
- Generate KPIs and performance reports to track productivity, accuracy, and cost savings post-automation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive AP experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrated success in implementing or leading AP automation projects.
- Strong understanding of OCR/NLP technologies and ERP integration (e.g., NetSuite, Viewpoint, Sage).
- Knowledge of construction accounting, vendor compliance, and lien documentation is a plus.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
