Delta School District is seeking applications for the position of Vice Principal, Provincial Outreach Program or Autism and Related Disorders (POPARD)

The Vice Principal of the Provincial Outreach Program for Autism and Related Disorders (POPARD) should possess proven educational leadership, teaching, and community relations expertise. Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are required.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision
- Fosters a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment, promoting professional growth, teamwork, and shared accountability within a unionized setting.
- Alongside the POPARD Principal,
- Facilitates clinical supervision groups to build staff capacity and maintain high professional standards
- Leads the POPARD mentorship program
- Hires, orients, and supports new staff members, ensuring a strong onboarding process and integration into POPARD's culture and practices
- Specialized knowledge and skills in the education of students with Autism
- Provides clinical oversight and consultation on psycho-educational and functional behavioural assessments
- Mentors POPARD psychologists in conducting psychological and behavioural assessments to ensure adherence to professional and ethical standards.
- Conducts psychological, diagnostic, academic, and behavioural assessments for students with ASD as required.
- Provides leadership in developing evidence-based strategies and interventions for supporting students with ASD in inclusive K–12 settings
- Supports multi-disciplinary school teams through consultation, capacity building, and training to promote student success and well-being
- Participates in and provides leadership on inter-ministerial committees
- Works in collaboration with the POPARD Principal regarding the day-to-day management of POPARD
- Participates in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and evaluation of POPARD staff, consultants, and team members
- Demonstrates a team-oriented approach fostering collaboration, open communication, and transparency among the POPARD team
- Models clear, compassionate, and professional communication, particularly in managing and resolving parent complaints or sensitive issues
- Promotes a caring, inclusive, and supportive educational environment that values diversity and fosters the academic and social success of all students
- Graduate level training in areas such as Special Education, Educational Psychology, Supervision, Curriculum and/or Administration (Master's Degree preferred)
- Demonstrates expertise in Autism Spectrum Disorder, learning disorders, clinical and behavioural assessment, and consultative support to school teams
- Proven experience in leadership or administrative roles at the school or district level preferred
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to lead teams in a unionized environment
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as a psychologist or consultant working with students with ASD in the K–12 education system required
Start Date: August 2026
Salary Range: $142,334 – $149,960
