Help Children Discover God’s Love in a Safe, Joyful Classroom
Lakewood Church is seeking caring, dependable, and ministry-minded teachers to serve children in our Spanish Children’s Ministry, Niños con Vida.
As a Ministry Teacher, you’ll help create a positive and engaging classroom environment where children can learn, grow, and experience the love of Jesus. You’ll minister to children through teaching, guidance, encouragement, and care while supporting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, works well as part of a team, and has a heart to serve children and their families.
Compensation
- $14 per hour base pay
- $20 per hour Sunday premium rate
What You’ll Do
As part of the Niños con Vida team, you’ll help ensure quality ministry takes place in your assigned classroom or role while creating a welcoming experience for children and their families.
Teach & Minister to Children
- Minister to children through teaching, guiding, comforting, and encouraging them
- Teach assigned curriculum with enthusiasm
- Engage children at their individual developmental stages
- Care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children
- Help ensure quality ministry takes place in the assigned classroom or role
- Maintain flexibility to work with children of different ages, from newborn through age 12
Create a Positive Classroom Experience
- Build positive relationships with children of different ages, personalities, and developmental needs
- Help children transition into and out of classroom environments
- Respond positively and appropriately when challenging behaviors arise
- Help create a positive Niños con Vida experience for children, parents, staff, and volunteers
- Maintain professionalism and a Christ-like attitude when handling sensitive or confidential matters involving children, parents, staff, or volunteers
Serve as Part of the Niños con Vida Team
- Work collaboratively with Niños con Vida staff, volunteers, coordinators, and ministry leaders
- Actively look for opportunities to assist with classroom transitions, additional responsibilities, and team needs
- Encourage and inspire volunteer commitment in others
- Maintain a cooperative, respectful, and positive team attitude
- Remain gracious, kind, and loving even in high-pressure situations
- Be open to correction and responsive to volunteer and staff leadership
Be Prepared & Dependable
- Arrive in assigned areas on time, prepared, and ready to serve
- Complete assigned classroom paperwork and classroom clean-up
- Attend Niños con Vida team meetings, staff meetings, and area trainings
- Communicate schedule changes in a timely manner with the appropriate coordinator and ministry leaders
- Maintain flexibility when requested schedule changes are needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned

- A demonstrated commitment to excellence in assigned responsibilities
- The ability to lift 20 pounds or more
- Willingness to make requested changes to work schedules
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum six months of volunteering, daycare, or teaching experience
- One year of volunteering, daycare, or teaching experience preferred
