Purchasing Data Analyst
Purchasing Data Analyst
Hi-Line, Inc. is looking for a high-impact Purchasing Data Analyst who wants to do more than run reports — someone who wants to shape purchasing strategy through powerful data insights.
This role sits at the intersection of Purchasing, Inventory Management, and Supply Chain Strategy. You will directly influence how millions of dollars in inventory and supplier spend are managed by transforming complex data into clear, actionable business decisions.
If you are analytical, naturally curious, and energized by improving performance through numbers, this is your opportunity to become a strategic partner within a growing organization. Why This Role Matters
You will:
- Help optimize inventory investment and working capital
- Improve supplier performance and accountability
- Increase visibility into purchasing trends and cost drivers
- Elevate data integrity and reporting standards across the ERP system
- Support leadership in making confident, data-backed decisions
Advanced Purchasing & Inventory Analytics
- Analyze purchasing, demand, and supplier performance data to uncover trends and risks
- Develop and manage KPIs such as:
- Inventory turns, aging, excess & obsolete
- Supplier on-time delivery, lead time accuracy, and fill rates
- Price variance and spend trends
- Build and enhance dashboards that leadership relies on for decision-making
- Deliver executive-ready reporting on a weekly and monthly cadence
- Partner with Buyers to improve replenishment and forecasting decisions
- Identify cost-saving and inventory optimization opportunities
- Support supplier performance reviews with data-backed scorecards
- Highlight exception-based risks before they impact service levels
- Maintain and audit purchasing data within the ERP system (Epicor P21 preferred)
- Identify data integrity gaps and drive corrective action
- Collaborate with IT and Supply Chain leadership to enhance reporting tools
- Automate manual reporting processes where possible
You are not just comfortable with data — you’re driven by it. You:
- Think analytically and challenge assumptions
- Spot patterns others miss
- Translate numbers into business language
- Proactively recommend improvements instead of waiting for direction
- Take ownership of accuracy and accountability
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years in purchasing, supply chain, or data-focused roles
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, lookups, data validation)
- Experience working with ERP systems (Epicor P21 strongly preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience in industrial distribution, MRO, or manufacturing
- Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
- SQL or advanced data querying experience
- Supplier scorecard and KPI development experience
This role offers strong visibility within Supply Chain leadership and the opportunity to grow into broader analytics, supply chain strategy, or operational leadership positions.
If you want to move beyond transactional purchasing support and become a trusted data advisor influencing real business outcomes, we’d like to meet you.
