How you'll make an impactManager, Commercial Underwriting and Business Development
Employment Status: Full Time
Job Location: Brownsville, TX
Salary: $65k -75k
Reports to: Vice President of Sales
Travel Requirement: 20%
The Manager of Commercial Underwriting and Business Development oversees
a team of professionals who underwrite and sell commercial insurance products
offered by Pronto Insurance through relationships with third party carriers
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies, manage client relationships, and ensure
sales targets are met - Provides strategic direction to the business unit to ensure profitable growth, while
Contributing to the company’s annual plan. - Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and
inspire the underwriting team - Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to identify and close sales opportunities
- Work with District Managers, Agency Managers and Agents to develop
commercial insurance referrals from our non-standard auto clients - Educate our traditional sales force on commercial insurance products. Works
with Director of Training to develop training materials for commercial insurance
products - Maintains an indepth understanding of commercial insurance products and
services, and staying up-to-date on industry developments
Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies - Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Education, Experience, and Traits:
- Minimum 3 years experience in commercial insurance to include the following types of
insurance: Commercial Auto, BOP, General Liability, Commercial Property, Workers
Compensation,E&O and Special Event - Prefer experience in small commercial (less than $50k account size) with a background of working with contractors, beauty services, auto repair, food services,
cleaning and retail - Experience collecting agency fees as a revenue source.
- Goal-oriented and motivated individual with excellent relationship-building skills.
- Strong sales skills with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals.
- Skillful application of Google products and MS Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word,
PowerPoint). - P&C General Lines Licensed
- Must live in assigned territory
- Bilingual English & Spanish (required)
