Prep Lead (Athens)
Roost is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Lead Prep to join our kitchen team! In this role, you'll be the backbone of our culinary operations, overseeing the preparation of delicious ingredients that help bring our dishes to life. As the Lead Prep, you'll guide the training of a small team, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the high standards of quality that Roost is known for.
Your responsibilities will include prepping a variety of recipes, training new team members, and collaborating closely with our kitchen staff to execute our menu items perfectly. Your friendly demeanor and teamwork abilities will create a positive atmosphere in the kitchen, making every shift enjoyable and productive. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the food preparation team to ensure efficiency and consistency.
- Prep ingredients according to menu specifications and maintain proper portion control.
- Train and mentor new kitchen staff on food safety practices and prep techniques.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of prep stations and kitchen areas.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking supplies and communicating needs to management.
- Work collaboratively with chefs to adjust prep lists and priorities based on daily needs.
- Foster a positive and friendly team environment to encourage collaboration and teamwork.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food prep role is required; leadership experience is a plus!
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Proficiency in various kitchen equipment and techniques.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- A passion for mentoring others and a willingness to foster a collaborative team spirit.
