Travel Speech Language Pathologist Job
Overview
Speech Language Pathologist needed for a travel temporary assignment in a long‑term care (LTC) / nursing home setting in Hondo, Texas, US. Start date: May 18, 2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,175–$2,284 per week. Guaranteed hours: none. Shift: 5x8 days (Mon–Fri) with 8‑hour days; start/end times flexible as long as consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation (DOR). This is a travel assignment under Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Responsibilities
- Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders; develop and implement a plan of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards
- Use standardized assessments and evidence‑based practice to support clinical interventions; assess progress and adjust treatments; document in the clinical record per requirements
- Evaluate treatment outcomes and modify services; make referrals based on outcomes; provide comprehensive discharge summaries
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to speech disorders
- Communicate with supervisor and the interdisciplinary team regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans; participate in required meetings
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic documentation system; record treatment minutes per regulatory requirements; participate in trainings and in‑services
- May supervise and support CFY or Student Speech‑Language Pathologists; adhere to ASHA and state practice acts and ethics
Requirements
- Active Texas State License as a Speech‑Language Pathologist
- ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP)
- Minimum 1 year of SLP experience required; LTC or Rehab experience required
- New graduates considered with Level II clinical experience (not just Level I observation)
- 3 years of active CCS experience preferred
- Submission must include at least one professional reference; must be submitted at the posted rate; if the rate is higher, candidates may be redirected
- Ability to work in a long‑term care / nursing home setting
