Civil 3D Principal Designer

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking an AutoCAD Civil 3D Principal Designer for our Dallas or Fort Worth offices.

The ideal individual should possess a strong background and hands-on experience in preparing linear drawings, particularly focused on water and sewer infrastructure. This includes a comprehensive understanding of grading, site, and yard-piping plans. Experience with Process Mechanical piping is highly valuable. The candidate should have a proven track record of collaborating effectively with staff Engineers and Senior CAD Designers. The ability to work seamlessly alongside our team will be crucial in ensuring the successful execution of our projects.

As part of our design team, your daily tasks will support the design and production of contract documents for various Water, Sewer, Force Main, and Pump Station facility projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare plan & profile, section, and detail drawings for various conveyance infrastructure projects.



• Prepare site, grading, and yard-piping plans and perform cut-fill and Bid Item quantity calculations.



• Coordinate with Project Managers, Senior CAD Designers, and other design disciplines throughout project execution



• Ensure drawing compliance with Hazen and client CAD standards, styles, and SOPs.



• Incorporate surveys, GIS, and aerial imagery as required for preparation of construction drawings.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of technical school CAD design certificate with emphasis on Civil 3D preferred



• Revit experience/skills preferred



• AutoCAD 2D skills required



• Basic understanding of pipe materials and fittings, joint-restraint, and pre-cast concrete structures



• Knowledge of Standard Drafting Procedures and Formatting



• 1-4 years of CAD design/drafting experience
