Position Overview:

Become part of the Care.com Accounting team as an Accountant on the general ledger accounting team. As part of this team, you will be responsible for the preparation of various expense related accruals for Care.com entities, prepaids, and fixed assets. This position will report to the Accounting Manager.

Location: 2801 N Central Expy, 11th Floor, Dallas, Texas 75204
Work Environment: Hybrid - in office Monday, Wednesday & Thursday

What Your Days Will be Like:


  • Maintain accounts and sub-ledgers and prepare balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, including the timely resolution of any outstanding reconciling items.

  • Generate manual and system-driven journal entries to be reviewed by the Accounting Manager and Assistant Controller, including the creation of vital analyses and back-up support.

  • Prepare and analyze various expense-related accruals for Care.com entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Identify proper ledger coding for fixed assets, set up system generated depreciation schedules, review fixed asset listing for disposals / impairment.

  • Identify proper ledger coding for prepaid assets and set up system generated amortization schedules.

  • Provide accounting and reporting assistance to other cross-functional teams (e.g., FP&A, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Legal, IT, etc.).

  • Identify opportunities to develop and enhance accounting processes and reporting efficiency.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:


  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP)

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Office applications, most notably Excel

  • Excellent analytic, time management, written, verbal, and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage conflicting priorities to deliver a high-quality work product

  • Great teammate with experience working cross-functionally, capable of liaising effectively with various departments and levels daily

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems

  • Proactive, motivated, self-starter that is looking for upward mobility and progression in their accounting career

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred

  • 1-2 years of accounting experience at a public accounting firm or at a publicly-traded company preferred

Salary Range: 60,000 to 70,000

The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Care.com’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives. In addition, Care.com provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a generous 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
