EHS Compliance Manager (OSHA/EPA)

Novolex Corporate
Brookshire, TX

Step into a day where safety and sustainability set the pace

Your morning begins on the floor, scanning for hazards and acting fast—correcting what you can and escalating what you must. You check in with the Corporate EHS Manager, align on plant safety and environmental priorities, and move straight into updating policies so they reflect current OSHA and EPA requirements. By midday, you’re guiding shipping and receiving staff through refreshed lift truck and clamp truck training, making sure the rules aren’t just posted—they’re understood. You welcome new hires with a practical orientation to safety, document required mobile inspections, and confirm that Food Contact Packaging Safety practices follow the SQF Quality Manual and GMPs. Before you wrap, you connect with agency partners and emergency responders, then convene a cross-functional team to drive projects that keep the workplace safer and more environmentally responsible.

Core responsibilities

  • Model safe work at all times; identify hazards quickly and correct or report them without delay.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain up‑to‑date corporate and plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Administer ongoing safety training for shipping/receiving teams, including lift and clamp truck safety.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate EHS Manager on plant safety and environmental initiatives.
  • Perform and document required mobile inspections.
  • Deliver required training sessions and lead new-employee safety orientation.
  • Follow Food Contact Packaging Safety requirements per the SQF Quality Manual and GMPs.
  • Serve as liaison with government agencies and emergency responders.
  • Lead projects and cross-functional compliance teams focused on continuous improvement of a safe, environmentally sound workplace.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED required; experience in Quality, Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field required.
  • Three years of related experience preferred.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (conversational).
  • Strong computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Solid reading, writing, and basic math abilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Ability to conduct inspections and carry related equipment.
  • Comfort with prolonged desk/computer work and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

You should be proficient in

  • Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA)
