Job Description
This role focuses on safely operating a sit-down forklift to load, unload, and move construction materials within a large wash plant facility. You will perform a mix of forklift operation, concrete and general labor, material handling, and jobsite housekeeping while following OSHA and site safety standards. The position offers hands-on work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment with opportunities to grow and advance within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate a sit-down forklift to safely load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Haul and move construction materials throughout the wash plant and jobsite in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform concrete labor and construction labor tasks as needed to support daily operations.
- Pick, sort, and organize materials to ensure accurate placement and efficient workflow.
- Clean and maintain the jobsite, including removing debris and keeping work areas orderly and safe.
- Perform general labor duties such as manual material handling, hauling materials, and assisting other team members.
- Use pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to move and stage inventory.
- Assist with logging materials, documenting material movements, and supporting basic inventory control and warehouse management activities.
- Support stockroom and loading operations by organizing materials and preparing loads for shipment or internal use.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and site-specific safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain a clean, PPE-compliant work area and promote a culture of safety.
- Accept and apply feedback in a large, corporate-style facility with structured processes and expectations.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a construction, warehouse, or similar environment.
- Forklift certification or demonstrated ability to become forklift certified in accordance with site requirements.
- Hands-on experience in construction labor, including concrete labor and general labor tasks.
- Ability to safely load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Experience moving and handling construction materials in a wash plant, warehouse, or jobsite setting.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and commitment to working in a safety-driven environment.
- OSHA 10 certification or the ability to obtain and maintain OSHA 10 training as required.
- Understanding of safety procedures and best practices for maintaining a clean, hazard-free site.
- Familiarity with manual labor tasks such as hauling materials, cleaning jobsites, and performing physical work throughout the shift.
- Ability to use basic material handling tools and equipment, including pallet jacks.
- Willingness to wear and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Openness to feedback and ability to work within a structured, corporate-style operation.

- Experience with inventory control, logging materials, and documenting material movements.
- Warehouse management, stockroom operations, or construction material handling.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established procedures.
- Strong attention to detail when loading, unloading, and organizing materials.
- Reliability in maintaining consistent attendance for early morning shifts.
- Comfort working in a large industrial wash plant environment.

Work Environment
You will work in a large wash plant facility located in Farmingdale, supporting construction material operations. The typical schedule runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime shift. The role involves frequent loading and unloading of materials, operating a sit-down forklift, using pallet jacks, and performing manual labor in an industrial setting. The facility maintains a strongly safety- and PPE-driven environment, with clear OSHA-based procedures and expectations. The operation follows a large corporate-style structure, where processes are standardized and feedback is part of daily work to ensure continuous improvement and safe, efficient operations
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conroe, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
