Project Overview:
The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S. Our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery next year. The candidate will act as the Camp Manager on the CCGT Project in Pecos, Texas.
The candidate may start in the home office in Reston, Houston or on project site in Pecos, TX, as single status, to support preconstruction planning, ahead of project mobilization to the field when the candidate will locate on a long-term assignment to the project in Pecos, TX. This position is contingent upon project award.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will represent Bechtel as the Accommodation Supervisor at the Workforce Hub (WFH). #LI-TH1
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversees execution of the Catering, Housekeeping Recreation Operations and Maintenance scope of work performed by the WFH Operator, including the mid-shift meal service delivered and served at the Thacker Pass job site.
- Works with Labor Relations team to maintain current accommodation forecasting information.
- Identifies and highlights potential shortfalls in availability of accommodation (well in advance based on forecast).
- Identifies and implements approved mitigations to manage potential shortfalls in accommodation availability including identifying and securing the use of external facilities.
- Works with Labor Relations and Construction to balance supply and demand of accommodation ensuring there is no schedule impacts.
- Undertakes structured inspections of the facilities under Operators scope identifying and addressing in accordance with the scope of work any areas of non-compliance within the Operators control.
- Conducts recorded safety walkdowns of the areas and facilities under the Operators scope of work.
- Conducts surveys of resident WFH experience. (Resident satisfaction)
- Satisfactorily addresses concerns raised by WFH residents in relation to service standards and by the Operator regarding resident behavior.
- Meets regularly with the Bechtel Project Security Manager (PSM) regarding WFH security matters.
- Reviews and confirms Operators submitted invoicing for accuracy as part of the approval process.
- Chairs resident committee meetings (where applicable)
- Participates in weekly progress meetings with Contract Administrator and Operator.
- Assist with investigations of incidents occurring within or related to the WFH.
- Prepares regular and ad-hoc reports as requested by project management
- Manages LR/IR/WFS activities to conform to company and site policies/procedures and legal requirements
- Provides advice and counsel to management on WFH LR/IR/WFS policies
- Trains and develops relief position to provide seamless position coverage during rotational leave.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Hotel or Facilities management background preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate sound understanding and knowledge of role requirements for similar Contract scope and scale supervisory position.
- As a highly interactive position, the successful candidate must possess the ability to communicate clearly, amiably and effectively with a highly diverse groups of residents, supervision, sub-contractors and project management.
