Role Summary

As Director of Infrastructure, IT, and Cybersecurity, you'll lead the strategic vision and execution for our cloud infrastructure while overseeing IT operations across the organization. In your first 100 days, you'll take primary responsibility for our AWS infrastructure and establish comprehensive security standards that will scale with our rapid growth. This strategic leadership role combines hands-on technical expertise with team management, as you'll support engineering teams during development cycles, mentor IT staff in cloud and security proficiencies, and ensure our infrastructure seamlessly supports 200+ locations nationwide. Job Title: Director of Infrastructure, IT, and Cybersecurity
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)
Salary Range: $180k-$200k 

Key Responsibilities

  • AWS Infrastructure Leadership: Take immediate ownership of our AWS infrastructure, including architecture optimization, cost management for AWS and GCP spend, and scalability planning to support our rapidly growing technology stack and franchise network
  • Security Standards & Compliance: Establish and maintain comprehensive security frameworks, policies, and procedures that protect customer data and ensure compliance with healthcare industry regulations and best practices
  • Cross-functional Engineering Support: Partner closely with backend and frontend engineering teams to provide infrastructure and CI/CD expertise, implement comprehensive observability platforms and ensure seamless integration between applications and underlying systems
  • After-hours Release Support: Provide critical infrastructure support during bi-weekly release cycles, ensuring system stability and rapid issue resolution during deployment windows
  • IT Operations Management: Lead and develop our IT support team, overseeing device management, Google Workspace administration, user onboarding/offboarding, and helpdesk operations to maintain seamless business operations
  • Team Development & Mentorship: Guide and mentor IT team members in developing cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity skills, creating clear growth paths and hands-on learning opportunities

Infrastructure Scaling & Strategy: Develop long-term infrastructure roadmaps that anticipate business growth, optimize performance, and ensure our technology platform can scale to support millions of wellness experiences across hundreds of locations

Requirements

  • 7+ years of infrastructure and cloud management experience with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role overseeing technical teams and infrastructure operations
  • Expert-level AWS proficiency with demonstrated experience managing enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure, including Cloudfront, API Gateway, Lambda, EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, Dynamodb, OpenSearch, Kinesis and other core AWS services
  • IT operations leadership with proven ability to manage technical support teams, device management programs, and enterprise software administration in fast-paced environments
  • Security and compliance expertise with hands-on experience implementing security frameworks, access controls, and data protection policies for technology organizations
  • Cross-functional collaboration with demonstrated success partnering with engineering teams, providing technical guidance, and supporting software development lifecycles
  • Technical infrastructure leadership with understanding of system architecture, networking, and cloud platforms to effectively make strategic infrastructure decisions
  • Project management excellence with track record of delivering complex technical initiatives on time and within scope, particularly infrastructure migrations or security implementations
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare or wellness industry experience with understanding of compliance considerations, data security requirements, and regulated industry best practices
  • Previous experience on projects with compliance requirements including HIPAA, SOC 2, or other regulatory frameworks for healthcare and technology organizations
  • Infrastructure as Code expertise with hands-on experience using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools for automated infrastructure deployment and management
  • Multi-cloud platform experience including Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and hybrid cloud architecture implementation
  • Advanced security certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, or similar cybersecurity credentials demonstrating deep technical expertise
  • DevOps and CI/CD integration experience with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and containerized deployment strategies
