Maintenance Millwright Technician

- Safety improvement recommendations on all pre-existing processes.
- Verifies clear understanding of work scope, carefully reviews the type of work and potential safety or process reliability hazards.
- Takes appropriate action to initiate proper safety reviews (e.g., temporary job plan, confined space, hot work, etc.) when reviewing the work scope.
- Is aware of and responds to emergency protocols during shutdowns and startups
- Responsible for executing work per maintenance procedures in area of discipline and making recommendations for procedure improvements or noting discrepancies to the Maintenance Supervisor where applicable.
- Supports maintenance of asset condition per INEOS Asset Care guidelines.
- Responsible for coordinating with Asset Work Execution Supervisors on larger, more complex jobs including review of work scope with Operations, Execution Forces, Planner/Schedulers to verify clear understanding and development of timelines as needed.
- Trouble shoots failed/underperforming equipment to identify and/or eliminate root cause with the oversight of the Reliability Specialist or Reliability Engineer.
- Serve as elevated technical resource in maintenance repair techniques for the asset.
- Is accountable for maintaining PM compliance, schedule compliance, backlog management for mechanical asset. Provides support to engineering project teams that install, modify, or will affect mechanical equipment in the plant.
- Follows the progress of the projects ensuring that the mechanical equipment is installed correctly with all parameters being properly set for reliable operation.
- High School Diploma/GED required
- At least 3 years of maintenance-related experience in a chemical, refinery, or industrial environment
- NCCER Millwright Certification preferred
- Possess a current, valid license to operate a motor vehicle
- SAP experience in areas of Plant Maintenance
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite tools
- Ability to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the process and personal safety and health practices applicable in the petrochemical industry. This includes energy isolation, lockout tagout, work permitting, confined space entry, working from heights, hazard communication, lifting and hoisting, incident reporting and investigation, and MOC.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems
- Knowledge of and experience with rotating equipment installation, inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting to include process centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps (gear and rod), diaphragm pumps, reciprocating and screw compressors, axial fans, centrifuges, centrifugal blowers, and gearboxes.
- Read and interpret work orders, equipment manuals, and drawings to perform required maintenance.
- Apply rigging and lifting devices as needed to remove and install equipment.
- Disassemble, repair, refurbish, and reassemble mechanical equipment per OEM specifications.
- Install and troubleshoot mechanical seals, bearings, and gaskets.
- Align shafts and couplings using laser and dial alignment.
- Install and align belt and pulley driven equipment.
- Lubricate mechanical equipment using best practices to prevent contamination.
- Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Incident Investigations.
- Safety minded, demonstrated strong safety and environmental performance.

- The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals working in tight or confined spaces.
- The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, Odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
- The worker is subject to oils: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
- The worker is required to wear a respirator.
- The worker is required to don a gas mask.
- Subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes
- Employee must have the ability to see written documents, computer screens, and to adjust focus.
- Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound.
