Cloud architect - application

CTG is seeking a highly experienced AWS Cloud Architect to lead enterprise application migrations to AWS Outposts. This role is ideal for a hands-on cloud leader with deep AWS architecture expertise and strong Java/J2EE enterprise application experience.

Location: Dallas, TX

Duration: 12 months

What You'll Do:

• Lead application migration strategy and execution to AWS Outposts

• Develop migration blueprints, architecture patterns, and AWS-approved design frameworks

• Architect hybrid cloud solutions across compute, storage, networking, and security

• Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation

• Implement automation strategies for provisioning, scaling, and patching

• Apply GenAI-driven code compilation and deployment techniques to accelerate migrations

• Modernize and refactor large-scale J2EE enterprise applications

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and cloud governance

What You Bring:

• 8+ years designing and developing enterprise J2EE applications

• Deep hands-on experience with AWS architecture and AWS Outposts deployments

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)

• Strong Java stack expertise (Spring, Hibernate, JPA, REST/SOAP services)

• Experience with WebLogic/WebSphere and clustering architectures

• Proven experience leading hybrid cloud and enterprise migration initiatives

• Strong understanding of DevOps, Agile, and Test-Driven Development

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

• Master's degree preferred.

• AWS certification (Solutions Architect Associate or Professional) required.
