• Job Title: Surgical Technologist – CVOR (Locum Tenens, Travel)
• Location: Webster, TX 77598 (Houston area, Texas healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens, 13-week travel contract
• Facility Setting: Hospital Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Start Date: September 1, 2025
• End Date: December 1, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7P-7A), 36 hours per week
• On Call: Rotating weekday and one weekend per month
• Operating Rooms: 3 CVORs, with potential to cover 1-2 additional rooms
• EMR: Meditech
• Dress Code: Hospital laundered ceil blue scrubs provided
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1460-$1500

Surgical Tech Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) experience (open heart and vascular procedures)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Operating Room Technician (ORT) certification required
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity hospital environment
• Clinical experience with CABG, valve replacements, ascending aorta replacement, ECMO, TAVR, angiograms, fistulagrams, open bypass, EVAR, and vascular access catheters

Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and the CVOR team during open heart and vascular surgeries
• Prepare, maintain, and ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment
• Maintain strict sterile technique and prioritize patient safety throughout all procedures
• Float to Main Operating Room (OR) as needed to support hospital surgical services
• Participate in rotating on-call shifts (weekday and one weekend per month)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Registered Nurses (RNs), physicians, and other surgical techs
• Accurately document procedures and patient information using Meditech EMR
