Position Overview

Strategic Financial Group (SFG) is a growth-focused financial advisory firm providing comprehensive investment management and financial planning services across the Greater Houston area.

We are seeking an Investment Associate to support investment research, portfolio strategy, and client advisory initiatives. This is a career-building role designed for professionals who want to grow within wealth management — whether toward a senior investment role or an advisor/relationship management path.

The Investment Associate will work closely with advisors and the financial planning team to support portfolio construction, market research, and client strategy execution.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Strategy & Research

• Conduct market research across equities, fixed income, and alternative investments
• Analyze portfolio allocations and support rebalancing strategies
• Monitor macroeconomic trends and capital market developments
• Assist with investment research and due diligence

Portfolio & Client Support

• Prepare portfolio analyses and performance reports
• Develop client presentation materials and investment commentary
• Participate in client meetings with advisors
• Translate complex market information into clear client messaging

Platform & Growth Support

• Support onboarding of new advisors with investment infrastructure
• Maintain data integrity across custodial and reporting systems
• Assist with client education and thought leadership materials

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in wealth management, financial advising, or investment analysis
• FINRA SIE, Series 7 & 66 preferred
• CFP®, CFA, CIMA, or other advanced designation preferred
• Strong understanding of asset allocation, portfolio construction, and financial planning
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with long-term career ambitions in financial services
• Proficiency with CRM systems, financial planning software, and Microsoft Office
