Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role involves managing payroll data, processing garnishments, ensuring tax compliance, resolving payroll-related inquiries, and contributing to process improvement initiatives. The Payroll Specialist collaborates with internal teams, external vendors, and regulatory agencies to ensure payroll accuracy, efficiency, and legal compliance. This position ensures the performance of all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates.
Responsibilities:
- Executes end-to-end payroll processing tasks including, but not limited to, data entry, calculation of wages, deductions, and withholding taxes ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintains accurate records of employee information, such as hours worked, taxes withheld, and deductions. Updates employee records as necessary to reflect changes in status or benefits.
- Stays informed about changes in payroll regulations and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. Collaborates with legal and HR teams to implement necessary changes and updates.
- Addresses payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees in a timely and professional manner. Investigates and resolves discrepancies or errors in payroll processing.
- Generates payroll reports and performs data analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas for improvement. Presents findings to management and recommend solutions as needed.
- Identifies opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiencies. Works with cross-functional teams to implement enhancements and optimize the payroll system.
- Provides training and support to employees and managers on payroll-related matters, including timekeeping systems, tax forms, and payroll policies.
- Assists with internal and external audits of payroll records and processes. Prepares documentation and provides support to auditors as needed.
- Executes end-to-end processing of garnishments, including wage attachments, child support orders, tax levies, and other court-ordered deductions. Calculates garnishment amounts accurately based on legal requirements and employee earnings.
- Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to payroll processing, including wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and labor standards.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, and/or minimum of three (3) years’ experience with payroll processing required.
- Intermediate level Excel skills highly preferred.
- Experience with multistate payroll, ADP SmartCompliance, and garnishment regulations preferred.
- Audit experience preferred.
- Required to work onsite in our Irvine or Plano location 2 days a week.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this role is between $24.04-$32.00/hr. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including your job-related knowledge/skills, qualifications, experience, and market location.
