Community Partnerships Advisor
Specific Responsibilities
The Community Partnerships Advisor is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with external organizations, businesses, and community stakeholders to support and enhance the mission and goals of an organization. They collaborate with partners to develop and implement initiatives, programs, and events that benefit the community and align with the organization's objectives. Additionally, they serve as a liaison between the organization and the community, advocating for the needs and interests of both parties. Strong communication, networking, and project management skills are essential for success in this role. This job requires strong skills in cross-cultural communication, understanding of needs in the developing world, and sensitivity to diverse standards of living.
- Lead and evolve Apache's community partnerships portfolio across its thematic pillars.
- Initiate, build and lead engagement with key external CSR, stakeholder and community partners.
- Continuous data management, monitoring and analysis of partners and programs in order to effectively quantify impact of the company’s community and CSR partnerships.
- Lead the company’s legacy environmental stewardship initiative, the Apache Tree Grant Program.
- Leverage and incorporate industry best practices while maintaining alignment with Apache's goals and capabilities.
- Build and maintain internal relationships that help advance the company’s engagement in the communities where we operate, including working closely with Operations and Human Resources.
- Drive, develop and maintain Apache's CSR risk assessment, risk management, and results.
- Represent Apache at external meetings and events.
- Occasional domestic and international travel required.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 10+ years of experience in communications, public affairs and/or corporate social responsibility
- Project management skills and experience
- Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated ability to ability to establish relationships with external community partners
- Ability to work closely across multiple departments and with senior- and C-suite-level executives
- Previous experience in the oil and gas industry or another technical field is preferred
- Experience with community needs assessments, social impact assessments, or environmental risk assessments is preferred
- Public speaking experience is preferred
