Environmental Scientist
Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our water resources group.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with wastewater/water discharge permitting and industrial pretreatment programs including completing permit applications
- Assisting with development of technically based local limits and implementation of pretreatment programs
- Conducting surface water quality studies
- Writing technical reports
- Completing field surveys and site visits
- Consulting with clients and resource agencies
- Assisting with business development through client relationships
- Some travel will be required
The successful candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in biology, ecology, environmental science, or a related field, and at least ten (10) years of relevant work experience
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:
- Completing permit application forms
- Creating figures required to be submitted with applications
- Reviewing and validating analytical data for water, non-potable waters, and biosolids
- Assisting with Multi-Sector General Permits and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans compliance and implementation
- Developing pretreatment programs and technically based local limits
- Conducting surface water and wastewater sampling
- Interpreting federal and state environmental regulations
- Working with state agency personnel
- Conducting meetings
