Project Manager - Well Planner & Scheduler

RIGHTSTONE IS HIRING! We are seeking a Project Manager - Well Planner & Scheduler in The Woodlands Texas 77380 with $55-$60/hr pay for a 6months contract, temp role. This is a critical planning and coordination role responsible for ensuring all well construction activities are scheduled, resourced, and executed on time. Plays a key role in preventing nonproductive time by making sure equipment, materials, and personnel are available when needed. Must have HS diploma and would prefer a degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience and knowledge of Well Construction or background in oil & gas industry is a must. !***Apply now!***

Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

This position serves as the central communication link between all stakeholders and is accountable to the Project Manager for schedule accuracy, visibility, and execution readiness. The role requires proactive planning, strong coordination skills, and the ability to adapt schedules in response to unforeseen events while maintaining operational continuity.

Experience or understanding of Well Construction or oil & gas industry is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize well construction activity schedules across all phases of planning and execution.
  • Ensure all required equipment, tools, materials, and personnel are identified, forecasted, and scheduled to meet operational timelines.
  • Issue delivery schedules and define logistics requirements, including transportation methods, staging points, and execution sequencing.
  • Serve as the primary communication bridge between operations teams, engineering, procurement, logistics, service providers, and field leadership.
  • Distribute schedule updates, delivery expectations, and resource requirements to all stakeholders.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment to reduce operational delays and improve execution efficiency.
  • Continuously monitor progress against execution plans and adjust schedules in response to unforeseen events or operational changes.
  • Identify risks related to timing, resource constraints, supply chain bottlenecks, or logistics challenges.
  • Escalate potential delays or delivery risks early to the Project Manager to support timely mitigation.
  • Prepare and deliver routine schedule progress reports, project dashboards, and delay analyses.
  • Document schedule deviations, root causes, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready planning records and revision histories.

Education

  • Must have HS Diploma but prefers Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management

Requirements

  • Proven experience in planning, scheduling, project coordination, or operations within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of well construction workflows, drilling operations, or field service logistics.
  • Ability to interpret technical planning inputs, scope requirements, and operational dependencies.
  • Experience working in environments requiring strict adherence to project timelines and quality standards.

Tools or Software

  • Proficiency with project planning and scheduling platforms.
  • Familiarity with supply chain or logistics management systems.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and scheduling templates.
  • Experience with drilling, engineering, or well planning software is a plus.
