Conductor
Responsible for assisting the Train Engineer with the movement of rail equipment (locomotive, railcars, etc.) within the rail yard in a safe and efficient manner.
Maintain an efficient and orderly rail yard by moving railcars and pulling rail track for incoming rail traffic.
Operate rail track switches for to direct railcars to appropriate track.
Ability to connect and disconnect rail hoses as needed to consolidate railcar efficiently.
Lead job briefing with Supervisor and crew prior to work tasks.
Ensure to comply with all Safety Rules and General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR), Hazmat and OSHA regulations.
Wearing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) such as safety vest, safety glasses, hearing protection and safety boot while on duty.
Maintaining clear communication with Train Engineer/Operator and other crew members while moving locomotive with either verbal via radio or hand signal.
Patriciates in daily safety briefing.
Inspect rail equipment for no defect and if found ensure too reported to immediately Supervisor on duty.
Maintain awareness and organization within rail yard, to include Trip, Slip and Fall (pothole, debris, and or slippery conditions). Qualifications:
Valid driver license
Knowledge of railroad industry helpful (but not needed)
Outdoor work experience (construction, farm work etc.)
Must be able to past an FRA Drug, Vision and Hearing test
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with a variety individual.
